Three years after their debut album “Pendulum”, DILEMMA release their second album on Dead Scarlet records, “Rise up”, on April 27, 2012.
Dilemma is the duet founded by Sotiris Tragas on vocals, tenor/soprano saxophone, clarinet, flute, harmonicas, piano, programming, composition and lyrics and Poppy Dalachani on voice, classical/acoustic/electric/12–strings guitar, piano, programming, loopers, and composition.
Rise Up was recorded at Half Note Jazz Club in Athens and not in a studio and is an album dark and melancholic, from the beginning to the end.
In this album they interpret songs in English, in Greek, but also in Spanish, while they mix blues, jazz, rock, electro and new wave with natural instruments and with modern production.
The music of Dilemma cannot be assigned to a specific type.
Meaningful, dative, erotic and unusual, they present 14 musical compositions with references to their favorite themes like life, death, love and loss, sorrow and joy. Images and sounds unfold emotions of the darkest views of the self to the most bright lyricism.
Listening to Rise Up, hardly the listener question that Dilemma is talented musicians and she or he is certain that they are doing something different and special. The listener will be thrilled by the variety of musical genres, but also by the interpretations.
